Bridget Cummings, Human Resources Manager for Colwell Law Group, is a seasoned professional with more than 15 years of experience supporting professional services organizations, including law firms, across the Capital Region. A compassionate and collaborative HR professional, Bridget is known for delivering a concierge-level internal customer service experience to employees at all levels of an organization. She has built a reputation for being a trusted resource, guiding employees and leadership alike through complex HR matters with clarity, empathy, and discretion.
Before joining Colwell Law Group, Bridget served as the sole HR practitioner for Heslin Rothenberg Farley & Mesiti, P.C. in Albany, New York, providing comprehensive HR support to approximately 60 employees across two offices. In that role, she oversaw all aspects of benefits administration, payroll, leave management, and retirement planning, while serving as the primary liaison between employees, management, and external benefit partners. Bridget has extensive experience educating and assisting employees through FMLA, Paid Family Leave, disability, and parental leave processes, as well as advising management on continuity planning and return-to-work accommodations.
Bridget’s expertise also includes policy development and compliance, employee relations, performance management, and recruitment. She regularly advises leadership on employment law and best practices, manages employee relations matters and workplace investigations, and supports annual performance reviews and compensation discussions. In addition, she plays a key role in firm culture through event planning, training coordination, and onboarding initiatives designed to support long-term employee success.
Prior to that, Bridget held HR leadership and coordinator positions with nfrastructure Technologies and Whiteman Osterman & Hanna LLP, further strengthening her background in legal and corporate environments.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Business from the University at Albany, SUNY, and maintains multiple professional credentials, including PHR and SHRM-CP certifications. Bridget is an active member of the Capital Region Human Resources Association, SHRM, and the Association of Legal Administrators, where she also served on the Board of Directors from 2020 to 2022.
